Edward Bachner, 38, pleaded on Aug. 2 of having a large quantity of deadly neurotoxin that he intended to use as a weapon in a scheme to collect life insurance money from unsuspecting victims.
He was charged with unlawfully acquiring and possessing an exotic and deadly neurotoxin, Tetrodotoxin (TTX) and intended to use it as a weapon on five separate occasions between 2006 and 2008 in an attempt to get millions from insurance companies.

He also admitted to posing as “Dr. Edmund Backer” to get the TTX. News reports have said Bachner planned to use the poison on his wife. Read more
